(-)-β-Trans-Bergamotene (≥98%) | 15438-94-5

(-)-β-Trans-Bergamotene (≥98%) | 15438-94-5

Bergamotene, together with its isomers α-trans-bergamotene and β-trans-bergamotene—which differ only in the position of their double bonds—is widely found in many plants, particularly in essential oils. Among these, α-trans-bergamotene is the most abundant form in nature. Celebrated for its sweet, citrus-like fragrance, bergamotene is frequently used in perfumes, essential oils, food flavorings, and skincare products, where it imparts a pleasant aroma that enriches the overall sensory experience.

Description

Bergamotene, together with its isomers α-trans-bergamotene and β-trans-bergamotene—which differ only in the position of their double bonds—is widely found in many plants, particularly in essential oils. Among these, α-trans-bergamotene is the most abundant form in nature. Celebrated for its sweet, citrus-like fragrance, bergamotene is frequently used in perfumes, essential oils, food flavorings, and skincare products, where it imparts a pleasant aroma that enriches the overall sensory experience.

Currently, bergamotene is primarily obtained through physical extraction from essential oils. However, limited plant availability and the high costs of extraction result in low natural yields, often producing only trace concentrations accompanied by complex mixtures of related compounds.

Genvera Labs has developed a microbial fermentation process to produce β-trans-bergamotene. This method not only ensures high product purity but also significantly reduces production costs, providing an efficient and sustainable alternative to conventional extraction techniques.
